As for the CyanogenMod, it will continue a new project called Cyanogen Modular OS. Here are some interesting CyanogenMod Replacement ROMs that you can try:

AOSB (Android Open Source Bam Project)

AOSB

It is a fast Android OS with a custom firmware which claims to boot up in 2 seconds and shutdown or reboot in just 1 second. One of the best features of this ROM is the OTA(over the air) support which gives you software updates without flashing ROMs again and again. Some other features include animation controls and custom progress bars, etc. It has some borrowed features from other OS which make it a multi-tasking OS.

MIUI

MIUI

MIUI is Xiaomi Tech‘s very own stock and aftermarket Android firmware. It is stock in all the Xiaomi smartphones. The interface is very simple, elegant, faster and heavily customizable. MiCloud Messaging, Anti-Spam feature, and Permission Manager make it secure. In addition to these features, you have thousands of personalized themes, lock screens and various MiSpace.

Paranoid Android

Paranoid Android

Paranoid Android provides you with a fully customizable UI, from app colors to themes. It has a PIE mode which gives you more room for the content by hiding navigation and status bars on a quick button press, and a simple swiping gesture. Floating Modes allows you to open a smaller version of apps from Recent Apps without leaving apps that are running.

OmniROM

OmniROM

This ROM was started as a reaction to the popularity of CyanogenMod ROM by some people at XDA community. OmniROM has an app called OmniSwitch which provides action buttons for app control such as  “kill all” and “switch to the last app”. OpenDelta updates and incremental updates which minimize the download size and provides the easy and quick method to update frequently.

These are some of the best customizable ROMs that you can try as CyanogenMod Replacements. Surely, some will suit your needs or maybe you can rollback to stock Android as it is slowly becoming customizable.
