After rebranding Moto X handsets as Moto Z and Moto Z Force, Motorola may be planning to get the “Play” series back on track. Since, Moto X Play is not happening, the name has been changed to Moto Z Play. According to the information from Zauba, which is an Indian import tracker, there is a handset which has been shipped to India for testing before launch. The Moto Z Play:launch event may even be close since these imports for testing often happen before launch events.
The phone is listed with a codename Motorola Vertex which was previously used as for Moto X Play. We have some specifications as well with the listings. Let’s take a look.
Moto Z Play:Specifications
The image shows a 5.5-inch device with single SIM capabilities and capacitive screen. It is named Motorola Vertex in the image.
Geekbench Benchmark, which calculates and gives scores to smartphones showed a device score for model number Motorola XT1635-01.
It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and an octa-core ARM Qualcomm clocked at 2.02 GHz coupled with a 3GB of RAM. It has a 3,500mAh battery and a 16-megapixel camera. An AMOLED display with 1080p display makes it a full HD device. It can be assumed that this device was Moto Z Play. It is expected to be a mid-ranged device. Considering the Moto G4+, it is good to have a mid-ranged gaming device. However, Moto X Play had better specs than this device in terms of battery, design, durability and camera sensors.
