The Always-On Display feature let’s your device work even when your smartphone is locked. When the device is locked, it can display information like time, date, messages etc with a slightly dim light. However, only Samsung’s stock apps can use the Always-On display screen to display notifications and not the third-party apps. Motorola Active Display and LG’s Always On feature in the LG G5 are examples of Always-On display.

The app is a third party app available on the Play Store for free. It provides variety of clock faces and styles for personalization. All you need to do to use the app is grant permission to modify your system settings required to refresh the time when the device is locked. Glance Plus can also display weather information with the help of an Internet connection.
To display notifications such as SMS, calls and emails etc and information from other apps can also be viewed by allowing Notification Access, which is not allowed even in Galaxy S7.
