Freedom 251 Launched at Rs.251.Registrations will Start at 6am
Ringing Bells, an Indian company has launched World’s cheapest smartphone named Freedom 251. It is priced at Rs.251 which is approximately $4. This smartphone is part of Make in India and Digital India Campaign and said to be supported by Indian Government.
This smartphone is manufactured for the targeted audience who cannot afford a smartphone and for the users who want to switch to smartphone from feature phone. It is made keeping in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision “empowering India to last person.” Several Government apps like Swacch Bharat, Women Safety, Fisherman, Framers and more comes pre-loaded with this device.
Registration of Freedom 251 will start at 6am on 18th February and close at 8pm on 21st February. As per the company the deliveries of the booking received will be completed by 30 June,2016. The phone can be booked at company’s website www.freedom251.com.
The Freedom 251 was launched on 17th February in New Delhi. The design of the smartphone looks similar to that of iPhone 6S with almost same home button design. The back cover of the phone has Indian Flag printed and the name of the phone is written at the bottom. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and features 4 inch display with resolution of 960×540 pixels. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It has internal memory of 8GB which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.
In camera department Freedom 251 comes with 3.2 mega-pixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. It also has a o.3 mega-pixel VGA front camera for selfies and video calling. It includes 1450mAh battery which can give decent battery life.it is available in white colour with Indian flag printed at the back.
Connectivity options in the phone include Dual-SIM, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB connectivity. It also include proximity sensors.
