Xiaomi Mi 5 Release Date Confirmed to be February 24th

Xiaomi Mi 5 Release Date has been announced to be February 24th this year which will be around the final days of Mobile World Congress 2016.As we know,Mi series is the flagship smartphone by the chinese manufacturer Xiaomi.Android VP Hugo Barra,who was Google’s VP before and left it for Xiaomi,tweeted that an event maybe held at the MWC show,giving it a chance to make a splash during a big event for the phone industry.

Xioami Mi 5 will have a 5.2-inch Quad HD display protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4. One of the confirmed features among the leaks of Xiaomi Mi 5 is the Snapdragon 820 chipset which makes Xiaomi Mi 5 to be the second phone to use Qualcomm’s latest high-end  processors.Right now it is the only second smartphone with Snapdragon 820 processor.

Other rumours suggest that Mi 5 will have 4GB of RAM,an internal memory of 32GB.It is also suggested that it will have a 6-element 16-megapixel rear camera  with f/2.2 aperture and 13-megapixel front camera.Xiaomi has had great front cameras and now they are putting a 13–megapixel front snapper,that will shake things up in the market considering how much front cameras are being used nowadays.The battery is rumoured to be 3030mAh.

Previously Weibo,the chinese blogging website famous for leaks and tips suggested a different release date.Seems like they were a month early on the date.However,there was also a render image of the phone.The image may or may not be accurate either.

Also,Xiaomi Mi 5 will be the first Xiaomi flagship smartphone to have a physical homescreen button as it might have a finger print scanner.Xiaomi Mi5

Qualcomm Sense ID

Qualcomm’s Sense ID was launched at MWC and was claimed to be more secure than current fingerprint scanners as it could generate highly detailed 3D fingerprint maps with recognized patters of sweat glands and ridges.
