Latest Update on Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Features

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, the new flagship smartphones by Samsung have been in news for their features for a while. This time we seem to have a confirmation on some of the features which were missing on the previous models,Galaxy S6.

According to a person briefed by the company, there are three features which the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will adapt:

1.Water Resistant Galaxy S7

Samsung has never made a water resistant flagship smartphone. But this time they seem to add the feature. Both phones are supposed to get IP67 dust-and-water resistance certifications which are a standard for this feature nowadays.Others phones with this certifications are Moto G Turbo Edition. This feature is supposed to make the phone waterproof for 30m.

As Samsung flagship phones now offer non-removable batteries, they have increased the battery capacity for both the models to 3,000mAh for Galaxy S7 and 3,600mAh for Galaxy Edge.In previous models,it was 2550mAh for Galaxy S6 and 2600mAh for Galaxy S6 Edge.

Both phones will support wireless charging and the charging time for Galaxy S7 will be 2 hours and 2.2 hours for Galaxy S7 Edge.

3.microSD card Expansion

As we all remember,Samsung removed the microSD card slots from the previous Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, they seem to have heard the customers and add the feature back. Both the phone,Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will have an option to expand storage via microSD card upto 200GB.

The internal memory on the phones will be 32GB for Galaxy S7 and 64GB for Galaxy S7 Edge. There is a rumour for a 128GB model but that may be one of the higher end variant models.

The camera is supposed to be only 12-megapixel,dropping down from the 16-megapixel in the Galaxy S6.But resolution is not everything, of course, and the module — coupled with an f/1.7 lens aperture (compared to f/1.9 on S6) — was tipped as being especially capable in low light situations. The front camera seems to be the same,a five-megapixel snapper.

Stay Tuned for more updates on the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
