Android 6.o Marshmallow Update for Moto G 3rd Gen
Users of Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen have started receiving the OTA update for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Motorola had laid its plans for rolling the Marshmallow update in October for its smartphones and since then it has released the latest update to Motorola Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto X 2nd Gen. Now the company is releasing the update for the unlocked Moto G 3rd Gen.
The Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen was launched in July this year and it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and company has promised for the next Android updates at the time of launch. Recently the company has launched the Moto G Turbo Edition which can be called as the upgraded version of the Moto G 3rd Gen.
The Moto G 3rd gen will get all the features which are included in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow such as Google Now on Tap feature, revamped app permissions, finger print API’s for other developers, and some Google security patches.

The latest update is currently rolling out to the users of Moto G 3rd Gen is USA and Canada and will be released to other countries in phases. The weight of the update is around 2GB and version is named 24.11.25.en.US.
There are also some Moto-specific changes which will be seen after updating to the latest version of the Android. The most visible change after the android update includes the removal of Moto Assist feature. According to the company, reason behind the removal of Moto Assist is that Android 6.0 Marshmallow includes ‘Do Not Disturb’ option under the setting ‘Sound and Notifications’ that performs similar function as that of Moto Assist.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will also come in the remaining Motorola devices which may include the latest Motorola Moto G turbo edition and Moto E 2nd Gen in select regions.
