Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi,chinese smartphone manufacturer has been holding out its new flagship phone Mi 5 but it has been teasing on the social media that it will be “worth the wait” and will be “very very good”.
Weibo, a chinese website that gives tips for almost every chinese phone before their launch brings the release date for Xiaomi Mi 5 to be January 21.
Weibo also claims that there will be two versions for the Mi 5 with prices Rs.20,800 and another for Rs.26,000. Weibo also claims that Mi 5 will be the company’s first phone to be running Android v6.0 Marshmallow.
Some of the features tipped by Weibo include pressure-sensitive touchscreen which will the second after Apple’s 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive technology.
As you can see in the image, Mi 5 will be the first Xiaomi Smartphone to have a physical button on the front. It can be assumed that this button could serve as a fingerprint scanner,which will also be the first for Xiaomi.
In a different leak,Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang claims that the Mi 5 will not have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sense ID 3D fingerprint technology as it is still in development and not as reliable.
Qualcomm Sense ID
Qualcomm’s Sense ID was launched at MWC and was claimed to be more secure than current fingerprint scanners as it could generate highly detailed 3D fingerprint maps with recognised patters of sweat glands and ridges.
Specifications of Xiaomi Mi 5
According to the leaks, Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature an Octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC. But due to delay in the release of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipsets. Xiaomi may go for MediaTek deca-core Helio X20 processor.Deca-core processor was also seen in Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.It will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM:Adreno 530 GPU:5.3-inch QHD(1440×2560)pixels resolution display with 554ppi.There will be two variants,16GB and 64GB without the option to expand via microSD card.The rear camera will be a 16-megapixel with dual-LED flash, and lastly a 3030mAh battery.
