BlackBerry has revealed images of its next smartphone which will be powered by android. It will be the second android smartphone after BlackBerry Priv. It is named BlackBerry Vienna and will feature a always-present physical keyboard design, unlike BlackBerry Priv which has a slider keyboard.
BlackBerry Vienna Design
BlackBerry Vienna goes classic on the design, adding the signature qwerty keyboard of BlackBerry to the design. The front facing keyboard is not a slider like the BlackBerry Priv and is always present for typing. The screen will offer a capacitive multi-touch interface and may or may not have an on-screen keyboard.
BlackBerry Vienna Camera
Vienna may sport a 8 megapixel camera or 13 megapixel camera as it might be a mid-range device. BlackBerry Priv has the title for the flagship phone for BlackBerry this year.
From the images, a front facing camera is visible and volume and power/lock button are available on the right side of the phone. The navigation buttons are present above the qwerty keyboard. It is difficult to make out if they are on the screen or a separate touchpad.
BlackBerry Priv has been well received by the android community who lost hope in BlackBerry. They are off to a great start in the android world but there is still a lot of room for development. BlackBerry might get successful is bringing the qwerty keyboard design back to the market and with android running their OS, it might just do the trick. There hasn’t been much of a drastic change in the designs for some time except metal and aluminium bodies. Bringing the Qwerty back might attract some old faithful users.
While Priv is getting a good response, images of Vienna are still a rendered concept and they real deal may look different when BlackBerry reveals it.Vienna may run Android v5.1 Lollipop or android v6.0 Marshmallow depending on its release date. BlackBerry Chief Executive John Chen said in a Fox Business News interview that the company has a “range of products coming after the BlackBerry Priv”.
